•Supervise shelter with up to 6 families that are homeless in the Beacon House •Provide support to volunteers •Advise clients regarding food stamps, child care, money management, housekeeping •Assist clients with preparation of forms, locating housing, obtaining employment and planning budgets •Provide information or refer individuals to public or private agencies or community services for assistance •Complete paperwork, data entry, and assist families in achieving their goals towards self-sufficiency •Work very closely with the full time case manager •Flexible schedule •Casual work environment •Great opportunity for college students •Wonderful experience for those interested in human or social services fields •Job involves working with a vulnerable population.
•Prefer some college education. All fields of study are encouraged to apply. •Great opportunity for those majoring in human services, social work, psychology, sociology or related field. •In lieu of education, experience with a vulnerable population will also be considered. •Knowledge of area resources and services for homeless and human services background are a bonus, but not required. Job involves working with a vulnerable population. •Must be mature, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to relate to all types of people in a nonjudgmental manner. •Must be comfortable working alone. •Excellent decision making and problem solving skills required.

Hours: Mon-Fri 4:30-8:30 pm, Weekends 7:30 am - 8:30 pm. Work with team of 1 to 2 others to cover the hours.
